Brussels App Challenge Winners Announced

After coming to a close on 31 May 2016, Brussels App Challenge entered its final stage – evaluation – during which the organisers (iMinds and ENoLL) invited external experts to evaluate the submitted proposals. Five proposals that were submitted before the deadline were scrupulously assessed by a panel of judges that included

  • Céline Vanderborght, Brussels Smart City Manager
  • Thierry Caussin, Marketing & Go to market lead manager at Mobile-for / Proximus
  • Hugo Kerschot, Managing Director at IS-practice
  • Juan A. Bertolin, Chief Innovation & Project Officer at espaitec (member of ENoLL)
  • Wim De Kinderen, International Project Manager at Brainport Eindhoven (member of ENoLL)

To recap, in making their decisions the judges looked at the following:

  1. Originality, creativity and degree of innovation of the proposed solution;
  2. Use of the ECIM platform;
  3. Business idea, economic and financial sustainability;
  4. Technical and operational feasibility, based on the proposed development plan;
  5. Social impact of the solution proposed;
  6. User Interface. Quality of the proposed user interface of the prototype or the mock-up.

After some deliberation the judges awarded

  • 1st prize to GreenCompanion
  • 2nd prize to PARK’N GPS+
  • 3rd prize to Door2Door

The whole ECIM team sends its hearty congratulations to all participants and finalists. Well done!
