Issy Networks with Leshan on Smart Mobility
Identified by the European Commission and the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Technology as one of the 15 European cities part of a Smart City strategy, Issy was invited by Leshan (China) to support it.
A delegation of Leshan led by Vice Mayor Yuan Xiao Song, visited Issy-les-Moulineaux for three days to discuss with Issy’s City services of possible collaborations on best practices in the field of eGovernment and innovative businesses. In addition to field visits, such as Digital Fort eco-district, the Issy incineration factory, the economic area of Val de Seine, and a presentation of European projects ECIM and OpenTransportNet, Chinese officials have long discussed with local companies involved in the Smart Grid project IssyGrid (Bouygues Immobilier, EMBIX, ERDF, Sopra Steria, Schneider Electric) and in the living lab experiences on Smart Mobility (BePark, OpenDataSoft, Transdev, Zenbus).
China gives priority to the development of digital and connected cities, identified as accelerating economic growth and innovation but also environmentally friendly. The country has more than a hundred high-tech zones and Leshan’s one is characterized by a development centered on the paradigm “one area and three parks” welcoming several hundreds of companies involved in businesses related to renewable energies (solar panel production, equipment for wind power, electric cables, etc.), ICT (Internet of Things, electronic components) and biomedical.
Leshan city’s representatives (3.5 million inhabitants) highlighted their commitment to implement a development strategy based on a dual objective of improving the efficiency of services provided to the population and contribute to the fight against global warming.
The city of Issy-les-Moulineaux will group local companies involved in its innovative projects to share knowledge and best practices with Leshan in order to promote French expertise. Technical meetings by videoconference will be held in the weeks coming and a business visit is planned for the coming spring.
